CR Council Candidate Interview: Rebecca Zhu
1. Since you are running for your first term, please introduce yourself to the community. Tell us a little about your background, prior experience, and personal vision for Elastos and Cyber Republic.
I used to work for Kortide, Siemens, Flextronics, Thomson Reuters, and Irdeto. At the beginning of my career, I was a software engineer, system architect, and then project manager. The industries involved mobile phone design and development, smart device development, and security. I joined EF in 2018 as project director. At the end of 2018, I supported Elastos Chief Architect Su Yipeng to design and develop the Elastos third-layer consensus CRC, and participated in CR Interim Council, serving as the Secretary-General of the CR Interim Council and the First term CR Council.
2. Would you say the design of Suggestions and Proposals, and the CRC in general has been effective? What could be improved?
To be improved: CR网站用户体验还是需要改进很多，中国大陆用户访问还是不太友好。
I personally think it is very effective, especially for some consensus goals that are focused, clear, unambiguous, and have a detailed implementation plan. It is easy to reach a consensus (either pass or fail). More importantly, if there is no CRC, then there is no good way to resolve major conflicts in the community, which I think is the most important contribution and value of CRC.
To be improved: The user experience of CR website still needs to be improved a lot, and it is still not very friendly for users in mainland China.
3. What contributions to the Elastos ecosystem as a whole have you made? What does your unique background lend to the CR Council?
As a member of the Elastos operation team, in the past, I was mainly responsible for project and product delivery, overall coordination, and daily operations. Together with the team, we developed ELA Wallet, CR website, and Elastos mainchain development to realize CRC and promoted it in the community.
4. Why should the community vote for you? Please share your near-term goals for the CR.
I am engaged in both the Chinese and English communities and I understand both Eastern and Western culture as I worked for western companies for many years.
I have my own thoughts on the development of Elastos technology and ecology. I think I have the ability to accurately assess the effect of a proposal and at the same time, I will evaluate whether the proposal is feasible and trackable.
In addition, being a CR council member will allow me more room to promote Elastos, letting those who don’t know Elastos start to become aware of Elastos and those who know Elastos to become strong believers. I will try my best to boost community consensus and confidence, which I believe is the foundation of ELA token price.
5. Who else would you endorse for being on the Council with you?
Adem has been in Elastos community for years. He has a deep understanding of the Elastos Smartweb framework and has been committed to the development of multiple Elastos projects, like React Native development framework and ElaBox. During his term as a first-year council member, I think he was very rational when evaluating Proposals without personal emotions.
6. Is there anything else you would like to add?
I hope community members can try to take the responsibilities of the CR Secretary-General so that more community members can be involved. The more people are involved the better.
