CR Council Candidate Interview: Zhang Qing

1. Since you are running for your first term, please introduce yourself to the community. Tell us a little about your background, prior experience, and personal vision for Elastos and Cyber Republic.

I started my own business two years after graduating from university. Since 1994, I co-founded and jointly operated software companies three times. I graduated from CEIBS EMBA with two years of training. Since the launch of the Elastos project, I have been inspired by its vision. I also profoundly agree with Rong’s architecture of the Elastos system and Han Feng’s new concept of wealth based on blockchain. I think this is a project that will change the world. Therefore, I have always been following the development of Elastos closely and hope to participate in and witness the success of Elastos.

2. Would you say the design of Suggestions and Proposals, and the CRC in general, has been effective? What could be improved?

Overall, CRC is effective. Several controversial issues in the community were solved by the CRC mechanism, such as the ELA coin burn and change in the tokenomics model. For the whole ecosystem, CRC provides a standard procedure for decision-making. However, after its practice for a year, we still have identified problems that need to be solved:

(1) Given the background of the committee members, they may not be able to critically assess the Proposals when they are sophisticated and technically complicated. The implementation of the Proposals is also not easily followed and supervised. Nonetheless, to have the CRC functions properly would require more resources. One method would be to scale down the scope to lower the difficulty of decision-making.

(2) The current CRC is just a passive decision-making mechanism and does not motivate the promotion of the development of the community. However, we seem to have many expectations on the CRC and hope that the CRC members will use their capabilities and resources to promote the community development actively. In that case, we should choose candidates with entrepreneurship to be CRC members.

3. What contributions to the Elastos ecosystem as a whole have you made? What does your unique background lend to the CR Council?

I have organized offline gatherings for Elastos and have written influential Elastos-related articles. Recently, I have been a facilitator of the Beacon Oracle project to promote the application of ELA. My personal experience in running a software company can provide some help in the promotion of the application of Elastos.

4. Why should the community vote for you? Please share your near-term goals for the CR.

I have always agreed with Elastos’ vision and path. I want to do more for the community after becoming a CRC member. There are two aspects I wish to address. The first aspect is community development. I think the consensus of Elastos needs to be further expanded. It looks like there isn’t much development in the old community. The second aspect is to identify more potential applications to enrich the application scenarios. I hope that these two improvements can help ELA’s token price.

5. Who else would you endorse for being on the Council with you?

I support lawyer Zhang Feng. On the one hand, his legal knowledge can reduce the risk of the project. On the other hand, he is already a well-known blockchain expert in the legal profession in China, which would be beneficial in the promotion of Elastos.

I support Mr. Han Feng is one of the co-founders and the spiritual prop of the community. He has been working hard for the development of the community and has made significant contributions to the community.

I support Song Shijun. He is a doer in the community and has developed two influential projects, namely Elaphant Wallet and FilDA. I believe he can continue to create miracles for the community.

6. Is there anything else you would like to add?

One of the key aspects for Elastos now is the token price, which reflects the degree of recognition to the project by the entire community. Who in the community should take the lead to solve the problem? At present, no one is responsible under the current CRC mechanism. No unified strategy can be formulated. A premature decentralization in the construction phase of a project might not be practical to solve this problem.

1. Since you are running for your first term, please introduce yourself to the community. Tell us a little about your background, prior experience, and personal vision for Elastos and Cyber Republic.

2. Would you say the design of Suggestions and Proposals, and the CRC in general has been effective? What could be improved?

3. What contributions to the Elastos ecosystem as a whole have you made? What does your unique background lend to the CR Council?

4. Why should the community vote for you? Please share your near-term goals for the CR.

5. Who else would you endorse for being on the Council with you?

6. Is there anything else you would like to add?
